PRS retooled these pickups to bring the sweet harmonics and chunky warmth of this classic design to your Custom 22. Each set of pickups has been ear-tuned to perfection by Paul and his team, a process known as Tuned Capacitance and Inductance (TCI). The end result is a very musical pickup that’s true to its lineage, but updated for the modern player.
The Custom 22 is fitted with PRS’s Pattern neck. A hallmark of PRS quality, neck shapes are, of course, critical to your playing experience. Perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern neck is an updated wide-fat PRS neck style based on designs Paul Reed Smith did in the ’70s and ’80s for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton, and Howard Leese of Heart. The PRS Custom 22’s bound rosewood fingerboard is beautifully smooth under your fingers. And with exquisite bird inlays, no one will mistake your axe for anything other than a PRS.
