How do I improve the sound and tone of my violin playing?
Change of bow pressure and location, rosin amount, bow grip, and string replacement will help!
Firstly, check your bow pressure when playing. The pressure you apply on the bow affects the tonal quality of your violin. Secondly, the contact point of the bow on the strings makes a difference to the sound, too when playing straight bow. You also need to check the amount of rosin you apply to your bow as it can’t be too little or too much. Your bow grip is another concern that effects the sound of your playing. Of course, replacing your old strings will definitely change the tonal quality of your violin for the better.
